DaRT 299 Service
Serving West and North Uttlesford and West Braintree
Demand Response Transport (DaRT) is an alternative
way of providing access to key services in rural areas.
DaRT services differ from bus services as they are flexible
and may divert on and off route to collect and drop off
passengers within their operating area.
DaRT 299 is available Monday to Saturday from 7am-6pm
(no operation on Bank Holidays).

Please note that email bookings are not confirmed until
you have received a response from the DaRT booking
Passengers can travel to and from anywhere within the flexible
travel area. Travel is permitted to the town centres of Bishop’s
Stortford, Braintree, Haverhill, and Saffron Walden, including health
facilities and community hospitals in towns mentioned above.
DaRT 299 will only complement existing networks services
(commercial or otherwise). Passengers will be encouraged to
make connections with other services in main towns to access
destinations beyond these main centres.

What you need to know
when using DaRT service
• You can book up to 14 days in advance of your desired travel date
• Tell us where and when to pick you up
• Book a return journey at the same time if you need one
• We can pick you up from home, your bus stop, or a local landmark
• If you are a wheelchair user, just let us know
• You can pay by card when booking, or by cash on the bus
• Bus pass holders travel free after 9am Monday to Friday and all day
Saturdays
• Individual and group bookings
• Shopping trolleys are welcome too
• Just be ready and waiting and enjoy the ride
The DaRT booking centre is open to take bookings between
0800 and 1800 on Monday to Saturday. You must book by
1800 the day before you wish to travel. Bookings for Monday
must be made by 1800 on Saturday. You can book up to
14 days in advance of your desired travel date
