Bin collections
Chrishall is on Uttlesford’s north collection round, meaning that our bins are collected on a Tuesday morning. The black bin is for household waste and the green bin for recyclable waste and these are collected on alternate weeks. A calendar for waste collection can be found here The small brown caddy is collected weekly and should be used for compostable food waste only.
An additional fee-paid service is available for garden waste, which is collected on alternate Wednesdays.
Green waste lorry
The Parish Council organises a monthly collection of bulkier garden waste by UDC which is paid for from the precept. Collection points are outside the Red Cow public house and at Pinkneyes on alternative months. Dates for this year can be found on the What’s On tab. Residents are asked not to leave garden waste unattended. UDC is occasionally unable to send a cart because of holidays/sickness and residents should check the UDC website for the latest updates.
Recycling Centres
Facilities are available at Thriplow, Royston and Saffron Walden. Booking systems may be in operation – please check the appropriate local authority websites for opening times and restrictions.
