Dear town and parish councils
We’re asking you to tell us how much we should be spending on our services in 2025 to 2026 and what our priorities should be.
The consultation runs until Sunday 12 January 2025.
We would also appreciate your help in sharing details of the consultation within your communities.
The 2025/26 draft budget
A draft budget was approved by Cabinet on 18 December.
It is provisional and was made as prudently as was feasible to protect core local services. Nonetheless, further changes are expected with new announcements, and clarification of provisional announcements, over the coming weeks.

After you have responded
We will put together a report of all the consultation responses we receive This will be presented to district councillors alongside the final budget proposals during February 2025.
The new budget will be in place from 1 April 2025.
